How can we help you change supplier with ease?
We did just that with Namco Funscape
“The Teddy Mountain Effect” - Tales from The “Make your own Bear” Company
What is your supplier really costing you? Money? Time? Headaches? Is it time for a change?
Everyone one wants the best price and the best deal when it comes to their supplier, don’t they?
Look at these four simple points that could be costing your business, BIG TIME…
1. Price Over Principle, spells…POP!
“Savvy” buyers are re-evaluating and thinking a little deeper than just buying on price. Buying on price and sacrificing your principles in the process causes real long term damage to your business and your market as a whole. Does your supplier sacrifice your principles for price?
2. It’s all about Relationships…
Customer service expectations are being redefined and re-evaluated. End users are more sophisticated, more informed and more selective than ever before in history! Which means that both suppliers and retailers need to redefine their relationships, their roles and more importantly their values within the market place to gain attention.
Nurturing the relationship is key! What sort of relationship do you have with your supplier? Do they really know you, your customers, your market? Is it the right fit?
3. Energy Matters…
In the market there is a “devolution revolution”, taking place. Waste is a critical element in every business…wasted time, wasted energy, wasted investment. Your supplier should be using their energies to save you time, make you money, help you to serve your customers better and make life simpler for you!
Is your supplier doing all of this for you? How much energy does your supplier invest in you? Can they move at the right speed for you?
4. Real Value…
What is the “Real Value” that your supplier gives you? Price? Peace of mind? Reliability? Choice? Quality? Advice? Support? You may be surprised to know that you could be getting a better deal all round, simply by taking the time to make a call. Is your supplier adding “Real Value” to your business?
If you were unhappy with any of your responses to these questions then you need to experience, “The Teddy Mountain Effect”…It’s the effect that our customers experience when they become partners with us.
One company to ask these questions of their previous supplier and made the decision to experience the “Teddy Mountain Effect” was NAMCO FUNSCAPE. NAMCO FUNSCAPE operate 8 soft play areas in the UK and we were excited to show them what we could do.
The Teddy Mountain team made the process of changing suppliers, seamless on every level for NAMCO FUNSCAPE providing them with…

So, what is your current supplier costing you? We would love to share the “Teddy Mountain effect” with your business…it’s simple and easy! Just pick up the phone and let’s talk!
P&O Commemorate 180 Years At Sea With New Concept Teddy Mountain 'Make-a-bear'
In commemoration of 180 years at sea, P&O have decided to introduce some new and exclusive concepts onboard their ships.
The line have created their own blend of gin, teamed with a new brand of ice cream for onboard purchases and launched an Oasis spa, tailored just for teenagers.
In celebration of World Gin Day on the 10th June, P&O are launching its first ever exclusive blended gin, Anderson’s Gin, named after the line’s co-founder, Arthur Anderson.
P&O guests can note that it has been uniquely handcrafted by the brand’s in-house team and distilled at Edinburgh’s award-winning Summerhall Distillery, whilst the drink is described to have aromas of Eastern spice, tinged with sharp Mediterranean citrus flavours and a delicously spicy dry lingering finish.
World Gin Day will further be celebrated onboard with two new cocktails made from Anderson’s Gin; a gin masterclass developed and available across the fleet; gin flights comprising all the line’s British gins onboard; and deck tasters on World Gin Day itself.
The line have also decided to launch Jude’s ice cream as the new branded ice cream for guests to purchase onboard, which will replace previous featured brand, Carte D’or.
The quintessentially British brand ensures that P&O are offering products to their passengers that are tailored to British tastes and will host dedicated spaces across their fleet.
Jude’s has 40 Great Taste Awards, flavours that range from Very Vanilla to Truly Choc, from Strawberry Tease to Salted Caramel, from Ginger Spice to Gin & Tonic, and a mission to ‘knock your socks off everytime’.
P&O are also launching Oasis, a spa tailored just for teenagers and designed as the ideal introduction to the world of spa.
The range of treatments will offer bountiful benefits for the body and the mind and aim to combat teens’ concerns whilst enhancing on-trend tastes.
Facials will include Fantastically Fruity, a mask made from strawberry and kiwi and designed to nourish and deep cleanse your skin; and Blemish Banisher, a revolutionary oxygen facial to help blast away problems and promote clearer skin.
Massages on offer include Blissed-Out Back Massage, a heavenly massage that uses aromatherapy oils and Swedish massage techniques to relax and unwind with; and Parent And Teen Time Massage, a side by side massage with Mum or Dad.
Body treatments include Surrender to the Scrub, an invigorating exfoliating body treatment loaded with lime and ginger to make you feel brand new; and Fitness Frenzy for those of you up for a challenge. The boot camp classes will give you an insight into metabolism with a personalised metabolism test.
There will also be manicures, pedicures and hair treatments on offer from salon professionals.
Yet another new addition P&O are introducing onboard is Teddy Mountain, a ‘build a bear’ concept for kids.
The line has stated that the family friendly feature is slightly more hands on for the younger guests as you actually make the Bear yourself (no stuffing machines onboard) and parents have the option to buy the kits as gift so their young ones can build their bear anywhere.
Anderson’s gin will be launched across the fleet on the 7th May 2017, along with Jude’s ice cream. Teddy Mountain will launch this year onboard Aurora (10/5), Ventura (14/5), Azura (14/5), Oceania (13/5) and Britannia (21/5).

Teddy Mountain Director talks With Balppa, The Trade Association For The Attractions Industry
Teddy Mountain have announced a brand new partnership with P&O cruises. Ryan Davies Director of Teddy Mountain UK spoke to BALPPA to share his thoughts on what the partnership means for BALPPA members and the industry as a whole.
“Entering into a partnership with such a powerful and well respected brand as P&O Cruises creates a Win-Win for everyone.” said Mr. Davies.
“Each of our partners get to share in the benefits of the partnership via the “Teddy Mountain” investment in enhanced supply lines, advanced ordering systems, increased product offerings and of course more competitive pricing!”
Mr Davies went on to say, “Part of our decision to be a sponsor at the Summer Conference was our strong belief that collaborations and partnerships are the way forward. It was refreshing to meet so many forward thinking members at Alton Towers who felt the same way. Teddy Mountain look forward to announcing some more partnerships shortly.”
When asked about his thoughts on the future direction of the industry Mr. Davies said, “In our business we consistently see that it is the companies that innovate and invest who become most successful. Teddy Mountain provide clients with creative concepts that are easy to implement and that deliver on their promises, with tangible “Bolt-On” income that is track able.”
Mr Davies added, “It is exciting to work with companies throughout the whole spectrum of the industry from the large Merlin Entertainments through to the small independents. We have seen excellent results from those companies who have really engaged with the Teddy Mountain concept and taken it to the next level. Teddy Mountain UK supports organ donor charity after hearing ‘Teddy’s Story’
Teddy Mountain UK was proud to learn last week, that one of our bears has provided a little comfort to the courageous parents of the baby boy who became Britain’s youngest organ donor. Teddy Houlston lived for just 100 minutes, after he was born with a rare birth defect that prevents the brain and skull developing. His parents, Mike Houlston and Jess Evans requested that Teddy’s organs be used to save others, and this selfless act went on to inspire many more - leading to a 378% rise in people signing up to the organ donor register. They received a Special Recognition award at the Pride of Britain ceremony last week (Thursday October 1, 2015).
Teddy Mountain UK Director, Ryan Davies, said: “Watching the Pride of Britain awards with my family last week, I was surprised to see our Blue Patch Bear, and we were all so emotional to learn that it’s voice recording chip contained the sound of Teddy’s heartbeat. “As a father myself, I was so moved by how Teddy’s parents had thought of others in their time of grief, that I felt compelled to contribute to the cause. As a result Teddy Mountain has decided to donate £500 to transplant charity Live Life Give Life. And we will continue to support this charity in the future.” Live Life Give Life encourages people to register as organ donors through awareness campaigns and activities, as well as funding initiatives to improve the welfare of patients in need or receipt of organ tissue transplant. For further information visit www.livelifegivelife.org.uk
Ryan added: “Many of us, and our families, have now been spurred on to sign up to the organ donor register ourselves too. Something that, hearing the inspiring story of Teddy and his family, we have come to realise it is so important to do.” If you would like to sign up to the organ donor register, please visit www.organdonation.nhs.uk
Teddy Mountain UK are wholesale providers of make-you-own-teddy supplies, including teddy bear ‘skins’, stuffing fibre, outfits and voice chips. Many Teddy Mountain clients were also moved to see their teddy bear on Pride of Britain, and have decided to take action. Mandy Karsa, at The Teddy Station in the Isle of Man said: “After seeing the Pride of Britain awards last week, I have decided to contact the NeoNatal Unit at Nobles Hospital to see if I can donate some of our bears and the voice chips to families in similar situations here on the Isle of Man. “I have also written to Isle of Man Hospice and offered to donate all proceeds from the sale of our ‘memory bears’. These memory bears allow people with terminal illnesses to record a personal message on a voice chip and place inside the teddies for loved ones to cherish.”
Ciara Johnson, 35, from Northern Ireland, has been helping sick children with her organisation Ben’s Medi Bear, for the last eighteen months. A nurse herself, Ciara provides disabled children and children in need of an operation with teddy bears to help them understand their situation a little bit better. She adds any medical devices - from tracheostomies to feeding tubes and shunts or even scars - for little ones who have been through a difficult time, such as those who have had open-heart surgery, for example. Ciara said: “I had twins five years ago, and Ben had difficulty breathing as soon as he was born. He was in intensive care for seventeen months and when he was due to come home, I was worried about his brother, Leo, pulling at his tubes. So I decided to give Leo a bear with the same medical equipment attached as Ben had. It was a great way to prepare Leo and help him to understand not to touch the equipment. “I later responded to a post on a parenting forum that was asking if anyone knew of bears to help disabled children, and as a result received 10 further private messages asking for one too. I have now provided countless bears to families all over Northern Ireland, the UK, Europe and even America. I only ask for enough money to cover my costs, I do not wish to profit. I just hope that these teddies help families when they need it.” For further information please visit www.bensmedibear.com
Business is Booming after Royal Seal of Approval!
BUSINESS IS BOOMING AFTER ROYAL SEAL OF APPROVAL
Here at Teddy Mountain UK, we have been thrilled to hear that one of our lovely customers, Sarah Hillier at Custom Ur Own Teddy, has expanded her business and is really seeing the results with more customers and lots of great feedback over the summer.
Sarah launched Custom Ur Own Teddy almost three years ago after she received a grant from The Prince’s Trust. She used the money to rent a small pitch at Pontypool Indoor Market and place her first order with Teddy Mountain UK.
Soon after, Sarah was invited to meet Prince Charles himself at an event in Cardiff to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Prince’s Trust.
Sarah, 29, said: “Meeting Prince Charles was an incredible experience, and created a lot of buzz about my store. He loved the bears, and even took one with him for his unborn grandson, George, at the time!
“Since then the business has grown from strength to strength, and the Teddy Mountain bears have been more popular than ever this summer. I have expanded to a much larger pitch right in the centre of the market, and can now carry a wider range of stock, which my customers are thrilled about.”
Sarah received the Prince’s Trust ‘Best Business Success’ award in 2014 – and has been nominated for the same award again this year.
Ryan Davies, Director at Teddy Mountain UK said: “We are incredibly proud of Sarah. Her commitment and enthusiasm for her work is a credit to her, and we’re pleased to have been a part of her success.”
Sarah added: ”Things have gone better than I could have ever imagined. I love working with children and seeing their delighted faces, as their new cuddly friends are brought to life.
“The support I have received from Ryan and Tina at Teddy Mountain has been invaluable, my business wouldn't be such a success with out them. Their products are so soft and beautiful, it’s no wonder everybody falls in love with them at first sight.
“I am now planning which Halloween and Christmas stock to buy and can’t wait to get started on the new season ahead.”

Prince Charles - A Royal Gift!
Sent in by Sarah Hillier– Custom Ur Own Teddy
At a recent event put on by The Prince's Trust Cymru, Prince Charles accepts a Teddy Mountain bear from Sarah Hillier. This lucky bear was later hand delivered by Charles as the first gift given to Prince George! His Royal Highness enjoyed himself and he was clearly relaxed at this event at Cardiff Centre. Sarah Hillier discussed with Prince Charles for over 30 minutes how Ryan Davies and Tina Chiffers from Teddy Mountain UK has helped Sarah out so much in building her own successful business!
Reportedly from the Free Press, 1,000 people from the UK sent Prince George a Gift. With 1,000 gifts sent to him, only one pontypool trader had her gift hand deliverd to the baby Prince George by the baby's grandfather Prince Charles. Guess who's? It was Sarah's Teddy Mountain British Military Furry Brown Bear! Sarah's Teddy Mountain bear was not only the first gift received in the hospital the moment the Prince was born, it was hand delivered by Prince Charles himself! Now that is one amazingly fortunate little Bear!

Guatemala Mission - Happy Tummies
Sent in by Penny Denny – TM Collinsville
Happy Tummies was started by a lady named Andrea after meeting 2 malnourished children in Guatemala. She also discovered that recently 5 children had died of hunger. She met with school officials in San Juan la Laguna to get more specific needs. Teachers informed her that many children could not focus, and had no energy due to hunger. So she started an after school program for the most needy. Kids come after school to get a nutritious meal and are taught hygiene habits. The kids tend to eat more on Mondays because sometimes they do not eat all weekend. The kids also are required to do their homework with a tutor, and learn Bible verses. While we were visiting we told the story of Noah's Ark and each child made an 8 inch plush animal. It was a huge success! I would dare to say this was probably the first time any of these children had ever received a stuffed animal!
